Those Hymns Again

So, in case you haven’t picked up on this yet, I am LOVING the new Page CXVI Hymns project.  What is tickling my fancy today?  So glad you asked.  Their version of the Doxology is AMAZING, that’s what!  There are two whole verses I had no idea even existed.  Here are the lyrics followed by a link to a page where you can (temporarily) preview the entire album.

Verse 1
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow.
Praise him, all creatures here below.
Praise him above, ye heavenly host.
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Verse 2
Glory to thee, my God, this night;
For all the blessings of the light.
Keep me, O keep me, King of kings.
Under the shadow of thy wings.
Verse 3
Lord, let my soul forever share;
The bliss of thy paternal care.
‘Tis heav’n on earth,’tis heav’n above,
To see thy face, to sing thy love.
OUTRO
Amen, amen
Amen (Praise him creatures here below)
Amen (Praise him Father, Son, and Ghost)
Amen (Praise him creatures here below)
Amen (Praise to Father, Son, and Ghost)
Amen (Praise Him), Amen (Father, Son, and Holy Ghost)

Stream the Whole Album HERE this week only.

  1. Oh and did I mention my new favorite line…
    “Glory to thee my God this night
    For all the blessings of the light”

    The song writer thanks God for the light…at night! Those two lines speak volumes for how we should handle suffering (at least I think that's what it's talking about).
